Marriage Settlement, 1655, October 25.

Marriage Settlement made between William Hale and Mary Elwes. Indenture between (1) Rowland Hale of King's Walden (Herts.), and William Hale, his son and heir apparent, and (2) Jeremiah Elwes of Broxbourne (Herts.), Walter Plomer of Mitham (Surrey) and Henry Elwet of the Inner Temple (London). Inscribed on dorse: "My marriage settlement all made voyd upon my sorry marriage."
